Towns & Trades

The world just got bigger. The old trade posts have been replaced by living towns, each with their own people, prices, and problems that need solving.

NPC Towns

Five types of town now dot the archipelagos. Each has its own personality, NPC roster, and faction alignment.

Fishing Village Trade Hub Naval Outpost Smuggler's Den Colonial Settlement

  • Fishing Village - fishmonger, rod sales, fish gutting
  • Trade Hub - best merchant prices
  • Naval Outpost - military supplies
  • Smuggler's Den - exotic spices and contraband
  • Colonial Settlement - new world crops

Fleet Docking

Send a trade fleet with gold to any town. Your fleet docks there and stays until you recall it, occupying a fleet slot. While docked you can browse the merchant, buy supplies, and visit the fishmonger. Unspent gold and purchased goods return with your fleet.

Fishing Rods

You need a rod to fish. Buy your first from a Fishmonger at any Fishing Village.

Fishing

Cast a line from any port you own. Each ocean has unique species with their own rewards from cooking and gutting. Level cap is 30 for now.

Gutting

Load fish onto a trade fleet and send them to a Fishing Village. The fishmonger will cut them open for pearls, shark teeth, squid ink, and more. Rarer fish yield better rewards.

Other Changes

  • Fleet dispatch is now a modal. No more scrolling to the bottom of the chart.
  • New tutorial for first-time players. Players are now placed in Ocean 0 until the tutorial is completed and properly guided through each step.

The towns are waiting, Captain. Bring gold, bring fish, and bring an appetite.
